It all started for Sumit when he first arrived in Australia in 2007 as an international student to complete his Masters in IT.
His first ever job experience was working as a Sales Representative for Telechoice at a kiosk. This is where his journey to comprehend customer needs started.
While working with his second employer at Friendly Grocer, Sumit received the opportunity to work as a casual Salesperson at The Good Guys in 2008. This job helped Sumit learn valuable skills like customer service, sales, negotiation, building connections and making recommendations as per the requirements.
From this Sumit started working with Salmat in their Telstra contact centre, after which he received opportunity to work with Commonwealth Bank in 2011. This job taught him discipline, professionalism and ignited the passion to continue working in the Banking industry instead of choosing IT sector.
National Australia Bank offered the platform that Sumit needed, and he spent the next decade from 2012 till 2022 working through different positions which NAB had to offer as a Banker. Some key positions which Sumit held at NAB were:
Consumer Sales Representative, Home Lending Specialist and Small Business Central Business Banker @ Rhodes.
Small Business Banker managing Gladesville, Macquarie University, Lane cove, Blacktown, Merrylands, and Auburn branches.
Business Banking Manager 2 in Norwest Business Banking Centre, Business Banking Manager 3 in Macarthur Business Banking Centre, and Senior Business Banking Manager in Macarthur Business Banking Centre.
While working at National Australia Bank, Sumit also won the most prestigious NAB Honours Award, being amongst the 1% employees to have won the same the 2017.
Following employment with National Australia Bank in a sales and service capacity, IMB Bank extended an offer in Leadership capacity as a Business Banking Channels Manager. This was the last key position Sumit held before he ventured into the Mortgage Broking business with his better half Megha Sharma, who is also the co-founder of Edhas Finance.
Sumit has been a decorated Banker from over a decade and is a qualified Mortgage Broker. He holds Degrees of bachelor’s in computer applications, Masters in IT (Networking), Certificate 4 in Mortgage Broking and is currently completing his Diploma in Mortgage Broking. He is a Member of AFCA and Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia.
As a Director and Principal Broker, Sumit believes that his growth lies in his clients’ growth.
Megha started her professional journey in Event Management Industry as a part timer in 2003. This job laid foundation for her interest in Client Management, Operations and Customer Service.
Upon completing her Bachelors in Humanities 2006, she joined Customer Care Services at Dell International in India for clientele in United States. During her 4 years tenure with Dell, she dealt with customers from the Home and Business sectors, addressed escalations and assisted her manager with team management and mentoring.
An opportunity in Financial Services Industry from a multinational firm steered her career into managing clients, operations and training the teams. After 4 years in this sector and reaching to the Head of Operations and Training title, Megha moved to another multinational brand Gold’s Gym where her title General Manager involved managing the centre, teams (Sales, Fitness, Operations, Advertising & Branding), and clients.
To hone her skills in client management and operations, Megha moved to Singapore for pursuing Advanced Diploma in Business Management and gained experience in international markets by working there.
Megha’s last key role before co-establishing Edhas Finance with her husband Sumit Saini was in FMCG industry as a PAN India Head for Key Accounts and Customer Service. Her clientele ranged from international brands and franchises like Dominos, Subway, Burger King, Metro, Walmart, Papa John’s, I Hop, Broaster Chicken, to other local National brands.
Megha believes in the old saying “Customer is King” and backs it up with her compassion, expertise, and experience.
